So this is what it feels like to live in a real metropolitan area.
I don't know about you, but my entertainment dance card is pretty packed for the next week. On Oct. 10 there's Brassai at the Blackwater, Travis Vick and other indie bands at Deva and The Magnolia District at Matinee; on Oct. 11 DJ David Garcia will be at Fat Cat, R&B singers will take the mic at Beach Hut Deli and a tattoo convention and Marco Antonio Solis will both be at Stockton Arena.
There also are four events set to celebrate the 209's best food, music and wine: Taste of San Joaquin (Oct. 11), Best of San Joaquin (Oct. 16), the MAMAs (Oct. 16) and the Stockton Arts Awards (Oct. 17.) 209Vibe.com will have previews of the shows this week.
Taste of and Best of are expected to become annual events, meaning that the second week of October could be this busy every year.
It's enough to justify giving the week its own name.
