About Tony D.
Tony D. was introduced to music by his mother and grandmother who often played Michael Jackson, Lou Rawls, The Whispers, Stevie Wonder and all other types of music for as long as he can remember. But it wasn't until he received numerous awards for his vocal ability in the first grade that he realized he had a talent for singing. It became his goal to have his voice heard worldwide. Tony D. has been working on his voice for 10 years, and says, "I still feel like I have some improving to do. I don't ever want to stop improving." It's this frame of mind and determination that has allowed Tony D. to be known as one of the best male vocalists Stockton has to offer. "Music business is no joke! You must have thick skin and a never say die attitude to survive in it", says the vocalist, producer, songwriter and promoter. "There was a time when I just gave up on the business. No one believed in me which at the time made it hard to believe in myself." During this period of self doubt, Tony D. did other activities, such as the martial arts, to fill the void. But the desire that was sparked as a young boy to be a nationally recognized superstar couldn't keep him away from music too long. Now he's rejuvenated and ready to stop at nothing to attain his goals. Tony D. has performed with American Idol finalist Jasmine Trias. He has also performed numerous times at the Barrio Fiesta. Tony D. has aligned himself with the prestigious Platinum Plus productions, and as a result is featured on Khleo "DA Prince of DA West" Thomas album. Tony D. is also the vice president and co-founder of Clef Notes Entertainment which regularly puts on and performs at shows in the 209 called The Original Grown and Sexy concert series. His company works in conjunction with Phat Daddy Ent. And is putting on shows every Friday at the Brick House giving the 209's 21 and over crowd a classy and safe event to hang out and have a great time. These shows have been known to sell out and have received attention from local media.
