About Atapaz

Latin music has always had a small representation in the Sacramento music scene, but it has never produced a band that can transcend culture, age and musical genre. A little more than a year ago, Atapaz, as it is known today, began creating its unique style. The music began with covers of traditional Latin songs, but played with a more contemporary, high-energy style. As Atapaz members began to write their own songs, a blend of their diverse influences merged and their Latin fusion sound was born. Their music explored the rhythms and melodies of cumbia, reggae, blues, funk, ska, swing, rock and many others. Atapaz's music is infectious to all musical tastes because of the wide spectrum of influences and genres represented in the music.
