Jiggy is a very talented perfromer with alot of showbiz savy. I think more local artists need to market themselves in a similar way and support eachother without hateing on one another. 209 VIBE has created another great way to see all the talent our area has to offer. Jiggy is over rated as an artist and charges way to much. He is a weak artist and performer but the beats are great. Thanks for supporting Jiggy, his profile and 209Vibe! We at 209Vibe have discussed the objections to allowing Modesto artists on this site. First, it's important to provide some perspective on the issue. It hasn't always been easy to be a Stockton musician. The city is home to surprisingly few music venues even though it's one of the biggest municipalities in the Central Valley. As a result, local artists have struggled to find outlets for their music and attract new fans. When 209Vibe arrived and offered Stockton-area musicians a new way to be heard, many immediately got involved with the site and made it their own. Some performers in our focus groups said they wanted to keep 209Vibe for San Joaquin County and not open it to Modesto artists, who have more opportunities in their city. Over the last few days I've been reading comments on 209Vibe and talking with some in the San Joaquin County entertainment scene about that Stockton-only philosophy. Many disagreed with it. They emphasized that Modesto is only 30 minutes away and that it is a part of the 209. They added that due to the lack of venues in Stockton, some local musicians often perform in Modesto. And they said that Modesto- and Stockton-area artists should be encouraged to work together to promote their music. We at 209Vibe listened, and we want you to know that this site is open to all musicians from the 209, including Modesto. For now we'll be focusing on providing a new outlet for Stockton musicians. But Modesto-area musicians are encouraged to add their profiles here. We also will be offering more coverage of Modesto events, nightlife and venues in the future. Together, we can all help build up the 209.

First i wanna thank 209 Vibe for allowing myself and other artists both in my camp and from my city, to benefit from the exposure this site provides!! Good or Bad!! thanks!! Ive been able to take a quick look at whats been said below.. Not much to say about it... Stockton artists would be promoted in the modesto music scene if stockton artists were to ever book something in modesto. For now i dont see that happening... who knows why...certainly not me... Also, Several Stockton Artists have been nominated for a MAMA AWARD (Modesto Area Music Award) in various catagorysi know for a fact modesto venues will book ANY act. if the act can draw numbers (wich when being a local artist, comes with various shows in wichever market your looking blow up!)... thats what this business is about... if you dont know that by now, maybe in time it will be made known in a more "blunt" of "up front" type of way. How are people suppose to take note if your not in their face saying "HERE I AM!!!" ? Whos to blame for the exposure modesto gives someone besides modesto? The artists? Even if this site was designed for SJ County artists only the name is 209 VIBE.. false advertisement if u ask me.. We need to see past whos gettin what and whos not. Work hard and work about yOU!! then again if it were a merced artist on here doin his thing... there would be no problem.. Im just trying to make music like everyone else. trying to use any avenue possible to make this dream a reality like the rest of us... I got love for stockton and the entire 209! A question for 209Vibe fans: when it comes to musicians, where do you think we should draw the line? This site was designed and created in part for the San Joaquin County music scene, which has never had the resources of the Modesto music scene. Modesto artists like Jiggy have been able to promote themselves on other Web sites based in Modesto. San Joaquin County has never had such a site. In addition, during our research local musicians, fans and residents strongly indicated that 209Vibe should be for San Joaquin County artists only, at least to start. Jiggy's profile was originally included only because he frequently performs in San Joaquin County. His profile has obviously quickly become a favorite here. However, if we keep his profile up, does that mean we must keep this site open to all Modesto artists? And if so, is that fair to the San Joaquin County artists who aren't covered by the Modesto Web sites? Comment here or in the 209Vibe blog and let us know what you think.

only good thing about jiggy is his beats. jiggy himself has no mic skills and looks like he's 12. although he puts on a great stage show he is overall weaksauce and over charges for what his crew does.
