About A Mover, A Fighter
A Journey through school, bands, and life has kept Clayton and Andrew experiencing love, loss, fufillment, and contentment. Their music means more than notes on a page or lyrics written on napkins, but tells a story of.... A Mover, A Fighter Comprised of two young men in love with the power of song. At the mere age of 16, Clayton Johnson, now 18, shared the stage with such bands as Relient K, Kutless, Thousand Foot Crutch, Superchick, The Fold (Tooth & Nail), Evaline (Maverick) Catherine (Rise) Slow Coming Day(Tooth & Nail) just to start of the list. Whether in front of crowds of 3, or 3,000, He’s enjoyed just playing his heart out to all. Clayton soon joined the band Sunday Airline as their new lead vocalist. (Midnite) Sunday Airline has played with Rookie Of The Year, Roses Are Red, A Change Of Pace, Dance Gavin Dance, A Skylit Drive, and many more. Clayton had been writing softer, acoustic music on the side, where he was giving a chance to write by himself, exactly how he wanted his music to sound, and the idea of playing solo began to weigh heavily on his mind. Andrew Beatty began playing guitar at a young age, and grew up with Clayton in junior high. They had played in a small garage band before Clayton’s national exploits, and remained good friends through out Clayton’s time with Sunday Airline. Clayton, knowing Andrew’s passion and reliability, contacted Andrew about getting together to write a few songs. After just a few weeks, A Mover, A Fighter was formed. Soon after their recording of The Silver Lining EP, an overwhelming demand for their music was heard. Shipping cd’s all over the USA to fans, Clayton and Andrew realized they had something special. Clayton grew up with Dawson at church, and knew quite well of the beautiful leads he created. Dawson joined soon after, and the three began playing. With Andrew's departure for school at UCSB, Jeff Kleiner took over, adding warm vocals, and talented songwriting. David Niacaris, the founding drummer for the original "The Evening News" sent Clayton a message asking about drums. After just one practice together, the band of four clicked into place, and with one sole purpose in mind; creating music to make people sing, dance, and smile.
