About The Groovenators
The Groovenators are a funky, soulful, swinging, West Coast Blues Band. Shad Harris played mostly drums in his career, but also, his share of guitar, bass, keyboards, and even some real blues harmonica, for 25 years in and around Northern California with some of the best blues bands around. Shad was the original drummer for the Tommy Castro Band, and spent over five years with Tommy. He has also played with Ron Thompson & The Resistors, Johnny Nitro & The Doorslammers, Ron Hacker & The Hacksaws, The Chris Cobb Band, and others. In early 2007, Shad met with Gary Hamilton, Myron Pipkin, and Dave Peters and asked them to join with him to form "The Groovenators". They are based in California's Big Central Valley. Shad is the bandleader but the band is a testament to True, Honest, Loyal, Friendship. The bands motto is: There is no "I' in band and their mission statement is: "To Protect & Serve The Groove".
