About The Stockton Royale

The Stockton Royale was founded after the demise of Sugarfoot. While the lead singer went on to do country, folk, and children's music, Sugarfoot's original band line up of Greg Skelton (drums), Mike Berdahl (bass), eric Patterson (guitar), Mike Klooster (keys), and Stanley Raquel (guitar) took their sound back the funk, soul, blues and r&b roots of the band. Quickly added was legendary Motherfunkers frontman Junior "Tha Godfatha" Sharper and sax player Carlos McCoy. The sound is influenced by mixture of 70's east bay funk, New Orleans funk jazz, and Stax R&B.
