About Playgyrl Slim

Stockton native Playgyrl Slim is one of the fastest-rising female rap stars on the scene. She was performing at 9, capturing the interest of local promoters with her unique style. In 1999, she performed with Pimp-A-Lot as the duo R.F.P, achieving underground success and drawing crowds at local and Bay Area clubs. Her success helped her launch the youth group "Troublesome". In 2003, Playgyrl Slim released her solo album, "Who Am I," which featured lost Bone member Court Dog from Kansas City. The album moved a tremendous amount of units. Playgyrl Slim has appeared on several albums, mixtapes and underground hip-hop shows around the world. She has performed at several concerts, some of which she headlined. In 2005, Playgyrl Slim put together the Northern Cali Freestyle Battle in Stockton. Her music has been played on TV including the 2005 Vibe Awards and shows on MTV, E!, Bravo and VH1. She has been in Murder Dog, Down Low, Xplosive and 916 magazines. Playgyrl Slim was nominated for Best Female Rapper of the Year and Album of the Year at the first Stockton Hip Hop Awards in 2006. She won Best Female Rapper at the 2007 awards. Playgyrl Slim dropped her first mixtape, “2 Face," in March 2006 and "Valley, Sac, and The Bay Networking and Grinding Part 1 Compilation" in April 2007. She is getting ready to release "2 Face Mixtape 1.5 Lady and The Thug" this summer. Playgyrl Slim is also the manager of 14-year-old rapper A Day from Stockton. This 6-foot, slim beauty is quickly absorbing the fame and making noise in the underground: - "Playgyrl Slim is the mentality of the Bay. Playgyrl Slim has a Trina type style, that sassy attitude. She's putting the game down tough and doing it big," according to Murder Dog magazine. - "Playgyrl Slim is the queen of Stockton," according to Carlos from C4 Records. - "Playgyrl Slim is the 1st lady of Stockton, She got more heat then most of these dudes do," according to Young Ren from Stockton California super group Doja Clik. With a mixtape, an album and a DVD on the way, it’s only a matter of time before the world knows the name Playgyrl Slim.
