About Josh Vigil
Growing up, Josh Vigil has always known what he wanted to do with his life. What is it you might ask? We have no idea, but he seems to be interested in comedy right now. Josh has been making people laugh ever since elementary school, which has always been easy for him. Algebra on the other hand, not so easy. This may be due to the fact that instead of learning the importance of fractions, Josh traded jokes for good grades (this of course being a legal transaction in the “No Child Left Behind Act). This carried on until at age seventeen, when Josh stepped on stage for the first time at Laugh’s Unlimited open mic night. With his first joke bombing, Josh pulled back the audience by making fun of himself, and had the audience laughing the rest of the way. Something clicked, and Josh knew this is what he was meant to do. The next step of course was letting his parents know the direction he would be taking in his life. “I felt like they were a little dissapointed...but they support me t hrough and through, and I love them for that. Im sure they would have preferred for me to be a doctor...or a male stripper. Anything that would give them a sense of financial security.” For the last three years Josh has been working the open mic's in comedy clubs, churches, coffee houses, his job at Dameron Hospital, and just about anywhere they will let him speak his mind. Josh was recently a finalist in a Laugh’s Unlimited comedy competition, has been part of the “Proud 2 be American” tour and has performed in Orlando, Dallas and all over California. Promising to be the hometown hero, Josh is excited to make a name for himself and his city. So look out people, Josh Vigil will be the best thing to come out of Stockton since widespread tuberculosis.
