About The Main Street Players
The Main Street Players are powerfull, cutting edge and original. Founders of thier proprietary genre, "Greasy Indie Rock". Main Street's roots grow in Indie/Alternative soil laid in the 80's giving an energized outcome of Weezer meets The Red Hot Chili Peppers with CKY'esque Vocals".
Greasy is another word for funk. Indie is a music industry status, where a band is standing in regard to major label or independent label. Indie simply means the group is doing theyre own thing musically and buisness wise. An Indie band is not on the coat tails of any major act currently selling millions of records through Interscope Records. Rock has been moving people to step outside the norm for generations. Rock is music with a heartbeat and will to stir ones soul. Something you feel and experience though emotion and sound blended together in a exciting presentation. This is the foundation which The Main Street Players have been building Geasy Indie Rock. Influence comes from a wide range of artists in music. MSP is geared around a few elements that are inset to the core of each movement. First consider where we all came from in music. Those vintage pioneers who forged new territory and blew the minds of millions of listeners. MSP pulls styles from vintage stacks. Next consider emotion. One of the most influential elements of human existance. It has to move something inside for it be emotional. Although an emotional attribute is in the eye of the beholder, it cannot be denied that MSP carries this talent to its presentation with songs like "On Display" and "Bleed It True".
The one common quality that sets The Main Street Players apart from the mill run is the song quality and well rehearsed presentation. It is'nt often mentioned either that Benson visits during the chorus of MSP and is heard at practices. But the fact remains whether by chance of harmonic resonance or pure supernatural visitation that there is a ghost in this band and they have named him Benson.

I enjoy you guys so much. I am a huge fan and think you guys will be huge! I can't believe I found you on My Space and continue to love your songs NEW & Older...Continue to create. We all thank you...
I see a group of serious, creative musicians that seem to really connect with each other and in turn deliver a unique, funk, blues, rock, indie sound. The lead singer has a strong and sometimes intimate voice that flows with the music. They produce a refreshing sound that moves. A must see if you're looking for quality entertainment on the local scene.
I saw the Nov 24th show at the Blackwater Cafe. Excellent entertainment. I look forward to see the Main Street Players again. Keep up the great work!
MainStreet is such an interesting sound. Its like when your eating something new, and you taste something familiar but can't put your finger on what it is. They honestly are bringing back an old sound but with new touches. The guitar has fast rhythm and the bass sounds like , in some songs, an old Funk A track. It doesn't matter if they're doing an unplugged acoustic set or if they're going all out with electric, they sound amazing either way. They are definitely a band you DON'T want to pass up. I'm sure if you can find them an outlet, they'll plug in and play for you =]
Wooo Hoo 209 is Finally up and rolling! Much Love!
