Highway 61 Blues Band The group formed in 1998 as an alternate back up band for Gospel Blues Legend Daryl Mansfield. The band later decided to make a go of it and eventually turned into one of the most popular and highly sought after bands in the valley! Highway 61 Blues Band is a 10 piece Chicago style Blues Band featuring a 3 piece Horn section, rocking Rhythm section, Powerful Harmonicaist and Two Vocalist! The Highway men and woman perform the Blues with a bit of R&B to Soul with the style of Etta James, Roomful of Blues, Boz Scaggs, Tower of Power and more… Highway 61 has shared the stage with many talented artists such as Tommy Castro, Little Charlie & the Night Cats, Chris Cain, Eddie Kirkland, Phil Guy, Red Archibald, Teddy "Blues Master" Watson, Layce Baker, Wylie Trass and Little Jimmy King, Elvin Biship, "The Temptations" Motown Review Tour, CoCo Montoya, Mic Martin, Big Mo and the Full Moon Band, Greg Wright, and has performed at the Monterey Blues Festival. Highway 61 has toured and performed at many Blues Festivals and Blues Venues across the west and has had national Radio play. There first CD was #3 on the top 10 sellers list at Tower Records in 2005.
