About Smoke Ring

Smoke Ring, a four-piece hard rock band, has formally been together since 2001. They have performed across most of Northern California from the Bay Area to Reno. All Calaveras High School graduates, the band members write and perform almost entirely their own material. Their songs have an edgy, dark overtone with a mood of mystery to them. Smoke Ring has a catalog of close to 20 songs (about a two-hour set), which include covers by The Doors, Black Sabbath, Godsmack and Nirvana. CDs of 11 original songs are available. With their progressive hard rock sound and poetic lyrics, Smoke Ring is a breath of fresh air to the music scene and a return of when rock was dangerous. "From beyond the woodvines and everglades/There’s a place where dreams are made/Floating up like rings of smoke from under the door/And all that once was shall be once more."
