Big Air Jam act on "Idol"

It's no secret that I despise "American Idol." The show offers a cheap shortcut to fame for mundane mainstream acts; there are other, more hard-working, more creative musicians out there who deserve the attention.

I'll only mention "AI" in this blog when it has a direct effect on the 209 – as it does today. On Tuesday, David Archuleta performed "In This Moment" by Sacramento's Ryan Gillmor in the show finals.

Gillmor's band – Gillmor – is on the bill for the Big Air Summer Jam June 29 at Weber Point.
