Stockton probably could use Sgt. Murtaugh much more than it needs more alternative health products. The city could use the no-nonsense commitment to law and order shown by Danny Glover’s “Lethal Weapon” character.

Unfortunately, though, Glover’s quiet stop in Stockton June 27 did not mean Murtaugh was coming to town.

Glover, an accomplished actor who also starred in “Dreamgirls” and “The Color Purple,” was hyping Tahitian Noni products at Ola’s Exotic Coffee & Tea, 3422 W. Hammer Lane. He greeted everyone with a hello as he walked towards the back of the café and held conversations with each individual in the shop.

“I’ve been drinking (Tahitian Noni) juice for about two and a half years,” said Glover. “The juice itself has health benefits.”
