Before launching the 209's first-ever online battle, we at 209Vibe.com discussed whether or not we should limit voting. We obviously knew that not limiting voting would leave it open to abuse.
In the end, we decided against setting limits. The purpose of the battle is to draw attention to the talented local music scene and a great event - OneEightyMusic's annual Battle of the Bands. We wanted to do everything we could to make it simple for users to discover, and take part in, both the battle and the scene.
It should be as easy as possible for the casual fan to check out local music.
And more fans have been doing just that. 209Vibe has seen dramatic increases in pageviews and unique visitors since the battle launched.

Just to clarify: while the online voting is a fantastic added element to this year's Battle (with a great side prize), the grand prize will be given for musicianship & quality of performance. No band has ever won without putting on a great show. You can expect the best to win on the day of the Battle, period.
THE 3 BANDS THAT ARE WINNING ARE JOKES... SPAMMING OBVIOUSLY LA CIRCA AND WE ARE NOT FRIENDS ANYMORE SHOULD TIE FOR FIRST ! REAL TALENT OVERLOOKED BY YOUNG BANDS TRYING TO CHEAT TO THE TOP THEY CANT EVEN MANAGE 100 PLAYS A DAY HOW COULD THEY GET 100000+ VOTES
180 TEEN CENTER IS WACK SAME SOUND IN EVERY BAND WHY EVEN HAVE A BATTLE JUST GIVE IT TO A SKYLIT DRIVE SINCE ALL THE BANDS RIP THEM OFF ANYWAYS LA CIRCA OR WERE NOT FRIENDS ANYMORE SHOULD WIN NOT ANY OTHER ONE OF THERE BANDS THAT JUST CANT SEEM TO HOP OFF OF 180'S NUTS...
